The moment before... so delicious

Nov 25, 2020,21:20 PM

I generally prefer steel watches ... and the Dbs is made of this metal ... but I have a problem with the: polished case and brushed lugs ... This double texture disturbs me.

In addition I would like to find an Amvox 2 which is an extension of my Amvox 1 alarm ... given the dial I found that the dbs was a continuation of the Amvox 1 while the first Amvox 2 is for me an iteration in rupture because, visually, the dial is not homogeneous but is made up of two very contrasting discs. And then, I like open dials ...

Finally, although I never really liked skeleton watches, I find that the glimpse of the mechanism is a fourth reference to the automotive world: the engine (like the speedometer, the paddle shifters and the brakes).

The Dbs would have been perfect with polished legs. I know I can request a polish but I have never done it on any of my watches. This is my purist side ;-).

Have a good day

Best Ø

As per suggested by one of our members and friends: Jaeger Lecoultre Amvox II DBS.

Launched in the arena in 2007, along with the Extreme Lab One and the Duometre à Chronographe, the DBS is the second opus of the Amvox II, which surprised the owners of the Amvox II, for sure. The DBS is an Amvox II with an open dial. Some pictures.... He...

To me the Amvox chronograph was a great line, I regret they did not pursue the route.

Thanks for this post. Difficult choice... I think that I could get the open dial of the Dbs which match better with my Amvox I... But I have to study before choosing... The first, the second, ... damned ! Best Ø

It was an exciting moment for me when I saw it for the first time. It is beautiful and uber cool evolution of the first generation. In the end, I found that it was too difficult to read chronograph counters and I preferred the DBS in photos more than in t...

I'd take either one in a heartbeat, but have a small preference for the open dial. M4

Absolutely like this Amvox II series from a time when JLC was really innovative.. My own DBS Amvox II got the nod already some years ago, but I still like to play with it..
