Jaeger-LeCoultre

That really is a beautiful and special Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Tourbillon Enamel but it's not an Ultra thin watch now is it?.

I have one really big issue with it I just don't see or understand how a great maison such as Jaeger LeCoultre  and with its long history of making not just watches but great movements as well could possibly dare call this or any watch that is 12.13mm thick Ultra thin!!!!!!!

I mean it is at least double the thickness of an extra thin watch and over 4 times thicker than what should be the largest ultra thin, I've heard of poetic license but come on this is taking the mickey big time isn't it?

I must admit it is not just JLC that are guilty of doing this I was amazed on hearing about the Christopher Ward Twelve 660  Ultra Thin just being released but yet it comes in at  6.6mm whilst it may still be only half the JLC's size it is still in no way an ultra thin watch or is it? and I recently saw a Zenith called Ultra Thin at 7.65mm.

What a joke IMO all marketing and no substance at all so sad.

Making Ultra Thin or Extra Thin or as they are also known as  Ultra Plate and Extra Pate was about a watchmaker showcasing their skills  and making the most elegant and refined watches possible not marketing or bragging rights or should that be bragging lies?
