That is why I always try to have two approaches.
The watch in itself, and the watch in the context.
The watch in itself is cool, in my opinion. Some interesting elements of design, a combination of complications which may please, that uis a cool watch.
Now, if you see it in a chronological context, you wonder why you see another iteration, you start to wonder if another iteration doesn't kill the watch.
While, like you, I would have much preferred seeing a totally new and inspired Amvox...
The collaboration between JLC and AM is not over, I asked if we will have other Amvoxes, and I've been answered YES.
Now, I am waiting for something really new, inspired, sport chic, fun.
The Amvox II was and still is a beast, in my book.
Doing better is not an easy task, but they have to!

Valuable points, Fx, about a watch which cannot be seen as consensual.
A Sporty Tourbillon is always something questionnable, and the Amvox III, all versions included, don't make exception to the rule. This one is an audacious version, with this orange bridge, and here again, it may please or not, it iwll of course depend on...

Interesting debate
I like this version, because it fits better the spirit of this watch. Inspiration are about automobile and competition, for sure that has already been seen many time these last years with some gimmicks. That may be the only weakness of the watch after all...
Coherence or agressivity... That is indeed the question.

The case is out of proportions. The movement, a wonderful one, seems to be isolated by the spacer. Just wonder why JLC is producing sport watches for "giants". They forgot us, the average people? Cheers
