Thanks for sound advice and at the end of the day for me to just let this be an emotional buy.
I do have a big wrist for an Singapore guy- about 7.5 increase for a good fit. I remember wearing a few of the JLC straps and needed to use the second-last pinhole and end of the strap simply could not be nicely tucked-in...an issue with squadra hometime and the reverso grande date! I was surprised about the whole strap issue (leather) and wearing comfort that I decided to get both those watches some time back.
Nick, you are probably right. I will be trying out the Squadra World Chrono later this afternoon and hope that the rubber option will be good for me. However, I was always attracted to the Reverso Grnade GMT since like forever! It will still come to a side-by-side comparision!

.. that like all the major maisons, JLC doesn't sell its watches over the internet - only through boutiques and in person via authorised resellers. Buying a beautiful watch like a JLC is too important a matter to risk the potential problems of buying grey...

i have tried reverso grande GMT before, it looks really nice for me. you should try both in metal first, sometimes it can't tell based on the photos. let us know what will your final decision. stefan
