Super, not both

For long time I’ve been fascinated by the perpetual calendar complication especially when combined with a moon face and recently obtained my very first watch with that complication.

So why “super, not both”?

That’s because I really love the first one but number 2 (the reveille) not so much.

Main reason is that the hands on the reveille are just very big very open and be very very red. Compare the hands on the perpetual only versus the hands on the reveille.

But that’s just personal taste and preferences, because both watches enjoy the outstanding craftsmanship of JLC and both are probably very comfortable on the wrist.

My vote goes to the platinum limited edition perpetual only

I have no experience with perpetual calendars. The JLC match my heavy rules, like case diameter, dial color, an open case back, mechanical, heritage, uncomplicated lugs for easy strap changes. What i want on a perpetual calendar is the year in digits. I c...

Are they both 41mm cases?

Are they both reishoes? I like the first, and i must get used to the GMT. To much buttons, and that thick hands.

Super, not both

I like the first, the 2nd is actually a bit 80ies.

That said, its much less 80ies then most other watches from that time. 😅 So we can say that JLC was quite early with creating complicated timepieces again after the quartz-crisis. Good to know! Thanks for showing!

Great post Nico, nice to know more about these watches

I have always loved and wanted this watch in platinum. I purchased the original Geographique in platinum at about the same time(1989). Unfortunately, i could not afford it at the time, and by the time i could, it was sold out. The Odysseus is also very ni...
