Hi
Can't really comment on the black letter of day date on a Master Moon - might be a special edition for someone, though those with more knowledge than me need to comment.
I have a SS version and yes it does have red lettering and also a crystal back. My (very vague) understanding is that all originally came with solid backs with the gold medalion on (I think this would have been my pref) the the crystal back versions followed, it may be that the black dialed versions heralded the change from solid to crystal backs .
This is just my interpretation of the changes and the experts need to comment for a definitive answer.

Master Moon with black day/month?
I saw a Master Moon SS watch where the day and month were lettered in black. Hitherto I've only seen this with red lettering. Do my eyes deceive me? Also, which versions have the master control back vs movement visible?

Probably white gold version
All the Master Moons that I've seen with black day/month have been in white gold. I've only ever seen the SS versions with red day/month. John

Hi The only WG version I saw had a hinged back. Can't remember the day month colours though. Cheers JML
