The response was really interesting.

“What is that thing?”
“Looks like something you get out of a quarter gum ball machine”

I was caught off guard because to me this is one of the most unique pieces on the market. I would not say UN freak level but it’s definitely up there!

Any thoughts on that persons take of this JLC?

It shows that sometimes if you stay in a bubble, your own reality starts diverging from common people's reality. I don't think it applies to this watch at all, as I consider it technically as the best chronograph ever made full stop, but sometimes hobbies... 

Not sure it has anything to do with this watch, but I think there is some truth in your observation otherwise

It can easily be applied to certain parts of the vintage market at the moment. The perspective seems to have gone out the window. It is good to question ones own perception of “value” sometimes. These things can easily drift....

It is a super cool watch.

What I noticed is people base quality and design on aesthetics. If something is not pleasing to the eye they discredit the whole piece. I however might think something is ugly so to say but I still appreciate the horological significance and take that int...
