Thank you for the fascinating story of JLC only foray into camera manufacturing. Even today, that camera design does not look out of place as a modern digital camera by Sony or Nikon.
I learn so much on this "fan site" that it's scary.
Of course, clockworks were vital for every country that took part in the 2nd World War either as large timing fuses for nearly every munition to Fire & Control devices for navigaton, target acquisition and even surveillance photography.
That is why Russia made off with vital clock and watchmakers/technology before and during the Cold War.
