Reselling value
Jan 08, 2006,07:07 AM
Dear JLC-connoisseurs
I have ordered a JLC (Reverso) and am looking forward to wearing it on my wrist soon. General question about JLC-watches and their longterm-value on the market:
Will a JLC Reverso maintain, decrease or even increase its value during the coming decades? I am aware of the fact, that watches - in general and maybe excluding the Patek - are not suitable for investment purposes. However can you make a general statement about the longtearm-value of both a used and an unused JLC-watch (e.g. standard Reverso in steel, no limited edition)? E.g.: "An unused Reverso will loose approx 30% of its value immediately after purchase and will be likely to be resold again in 10 years at 70% of its original listprice."
Any comment on that is appreciated.
Regards,
S.
