Pre SIHH 2017: Jaeger Lecoultre Rendez Vous Sonatina.
Since the release of the Rendez Vous Line, in 2012, things changed a bit. Well, " a bit ", I will let you judge, as there are some big changes this year.
One of the biggest and most interesting novelty in this line of watches is certainly the Sonatina.
The Rendez Vous Sonatina adopts a new case, bigger, with a diameter of 38, 2 mm, now, and a new movement whose main function is... An alarm, and not a simple one, from what I read ( which has to be confirmed, still ).
Indeed, the alarm is based on a single hammer ( while minute repeaters have two ) which sounds like a minute repeater, but one note, like the Ulysse Nardin... Sonata, born in 2003. Which could also explain the name of " Sonatina ". If this is a common alarm, I don't see the point to go for such a name.
The movement is the Cal 735, which is automatic, beating at 28800 vibrations per hour, and offering an autonomy of 40 hours.
The case exists in white gold or rose gold, 38, 2 mm big, 10, 59 mm high and water resistant to 50 meters.
From what I read, the white gold version has an amethyst guilloché and grained dial, while the rose gold enhoys a more sober and classic silvered guilloché dial.
The alarm is set through one crown, and is symbolized by the star, which turns all around the dial. So, it reminds you a rendez vous ( appointment ) time in two ways: Visually and acoustically.
I only received the rose gold version pictures.
I cannot wait to see the white gold version and its dial.
Òne regret: The jeweled bezel. I would be curious to see how it looks without diamonds.
Would it be more masculine and then attract some of us?
That's my question...
Best,
Nicolas
