Manual winding on Reverso

Hi all,

What an unfortunate coincidence... I am in the market for a JLC Master Calendar and today my JLC Reverso Grande Taille stopped working.

It is a manual watch, and I wind it every two days.  I stop winding when I feel the resistance indicating that the watch is fully wound.  Today, the winding went on forever... until I realized that even the seconds hand wasn't ticking anymore.  And now the watch just won't run.  I am not a particularly aggressive winder so I don't think I overwound the watch and broke the winding mechanism inside (but maybe I did?).  I've never had this problem before.

Can any of you share your insight?

It bears noting that the watch is now 6 years old and due for servicing... which I am going to do tomorrow.  But does this indicate a serious flaw/ breakage in the watch?  I would prefer to not have to spend a fortune dealing with this issue, especially since the watch was working perfectly fine for the last 2,200 days...

It's a sad morning here sad

Edited to add : Google tells me that this issue is one of a broken mainspring.  Is this a costly fix?
