Left out of the list: caliber 601 alarm

The JLC caliber 601 alarm movement is often left out of production lists because few collectors have seen this movement. It was introduced after the caliber 489 and before the caliber 814. It was made in 1952 and only 2,000 examples were produced, according to the factory.

The most unusual aspect of the Memovox watches using this caliber is that they used an alarm pointer hand instead of the familiar rotating inner disc:

It would almost seem that JLC themselves forgot this caliber for a time, because the 601 caliber designation was re-used when they were later naming their quartz calibers. Odd.

I have only ever seen 4 examples of this unusual Memovox. I know that Clavi posted on another board that he had a couple in his collection and I also have a couple examples.
