Jaeger Lecoultre Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon / Reverso Tribute Tourbillon. So close, so different.
When I wrote my first review on the Reverso Tribute Tourbillon, I put the light on the fact that those who couldn't afford or didn't want to fund the Tribute Gyrotourbillon might have a good opportunity to get a close feeing with the Tribute Tourbillon.
The recto sides are very different, which is not the case when you compare the recto side of the Tribute Gyrotourbillon with the verso side of the Tribute tourbillon..
Here are two side by side pictures I wanted to share with you, to make you feel this " air de famille ".
You will immediately notice that the sizes are not the same: 51 x 31 x 12, 4 mm for the Tribute Gyrotourbillon, versus 45, 5 x 27, 4 x 9, 15 mm for the Tribute Tourbillon, this last one being identical in size with the Tribute Small Seconds, but a bit thicker.
Of course, the major difference lies in the fact that the Gyrotourbillon has a magic the classic tourbillon doesn't have, as well as the charming hemispherical hairspring.
There is one thing I like a lot, the soleillé finishings of the Tribute Tourbillon. I prefer it to the Tribute Gyrotourbillon.
Both have a platinum case, my favorite noble metal.
Yes, so close but so different!
Best,
Nicolas
