I owned one for a while

It is an amazing watch.  As Nicolas mentioned above, the depth meter is rare (only three manufacturers I am aware of make an all-mechanical depth meter wrist watch), and there is no other that combines the second time zone with the DM, again as far as I am aware.   It is a massive watch, but it wears surprisingly well and is comfortable.  The meter on the one side and the compressor crowns on the other side actually help to diminsh the appearance of the thickness of the watch, which is really nice on a piece this size.  Some of the other divers in the JLC diver series do suffer form the so-called "tuna can" appearance, and this one does not. Needless to say, it operates as flawlessly and accurately as other modern JLCs do.

The watch is built like a tank.  I truly feel like this is one tough watch.  The click of the bezel is very certain, and the overall construction of the case has a very industrial feel to it.  The dial is a marvel of three-dimensionality.  It gave me a lot of pleasure to gaze upon the dial.  In spite of the additional time zone, the dial is very legible and time reading is very easy.  I think the watch was designed to function for its obvious intended purpose as a diver, but also as a travel watch for a diver that seeks adventure around the globe.   Quite frankly, this is THE JLC Diver to have, so I can totally understand why you would want to add this to your already impressive JLC collection.  Honestly, I think it is in a different league than the Sea Dweller, but new, it also comes at a much higher price point.

The titanium bracelet is wonderful if yo want it. I think I would have preferred the articulated rubber bracelet, but since you already have that on the NSA , I can understand how you might want the metal bracelet.

The reason I sold mine, in case you are wondering, is simply that I intend to keep a very small collection of watches, and I was having a hard time fitting the Pro Geo within my small set of watches.  Nevertheless, I have not written off buying it again some day.

I would say if the price is right for you, get it!!!

Best,

respo

Hi Everyone, I must be crazy but I plan to sell my Rolex Sed Dweller Deep Sea for a JLC MC Diving Pro. I think it will be better for my collection. I allready have a TTP 65, a Navy Seals alarm, a TT Deep Sea (ordered) and a Tides of Time on route. What do...

The Rolex Deep Sea and the JLC Pro Geo are two monsters, indeed. The JL Pro Geo is even thickerand bigger than the Rolex Deep Sea. Be sure, before decising anything, that your wrist will stand it. Now, do you have to sell your Rolex Deep Sea for the JLC P...

I know you are fan of the Deep Sea. I allways have been. I had 3 or 4 See Dweller and I sold the last one last december on your recommandations. But things changes in my case. I have been allways was of JLC especialy the Memovox but that passion increased...

An extra depth meter is a nice safety device

 By: dr.kol : January 31st, 2011-13:23
however, I don't have this watch because I have always a dive computer plus I have an extra depth gauge fixed with my regulator set. I have SDDS but I consider this watch an "overkill" for diving. I personally like much more the old Sea-Dweller. Best, Kar...

Thanks Kari

The old Sea Dweller was great indeed. But I had the last version and wich has been produced a lot of. And I have a large wrist. ;-) I am not a diver but I love diving watches. I am thinking that the depht meter is a great innovation. Best Marc

Depth meter is great indeed,

especially for diving... On dry land it does not have much value but if you love the watch, why not. I have noticed that most of the fans of diving watches are either non-divers or desk-divers. But surely, the diving watches are also great sporting watche...

Big fan of JLC MC diving pro and equally the DSSD...I would lean towards keeping the DS for it wearability factor but honestly I wouldn't have an issue wearing the JLC either. I seems to me your more of a JLC fan...so I would go to what sing to your the m...

Hi, I've just receive the information. The trade between the Diving Pro and the Deep Sea is 3.000€ (to add for the Pro) It seems that the watch is as "new" and complete. I think it's a good price. It is on rubber articulated but I will change it for Titan...

I didn't hesitated too long as soon I saw it. Even that the Rolex was the most prefered of my watches for my wife (they can make some mistakes). I also love the Deep Sea by the way and it was difficult for me to let it go, but... I have the Diving Pro on ...

I won't change it if it were up to me.

I somehow see in future you will end up with another seadweller. Is not my intention to upset you. Since you have a passion for diving watch. My guess is this love will not go away so easily. When it is time for Rolex to travel back to your wrist, no doub...

Congrats, again!
