I am definitely in for an EL3...
you know my choice when it comes to the EL1 and EL2 Nico. While I absolutely LOVE and appreciate the technology of the EL1 I prefer the functionality of the EL2 which I consider one of the best, if not the best, sports watches made. Nothing comes close to it in form, function, design, durability, concept, execution, wearability, and comfort for less than 100k !! I have worn mine non-stop for the past few weeks and if I had to choose 1 watch, which is impossible, it would be the EL2 for all the reasons I mentioned.
Now if JLC decides to make an EL3, I would like to see them implement the ZERO oil concept from the EL1 as well as incorporate an alarm which is a function JLC has mastered throughout it's history. I really am hard pressed to think of something else JLC could do to improve the EL2 when it comes to function and practicality since it ALREADY has every function I would want and need (chronograph, GMT, power reserve, 100m water resistance, capable of withstanding RIDICULOUS shock due to the case inside another case, ceramic bezel, etc...)
Again, the only thing I could think of is an alarm, zero oil tech, and maybe more watch resistance (deeper depth rating) which is just for bragging rights since 99.9% of people will not go down pass 50m anyways.
I wore my EL2 while scuba diving and snorkeling in Hawaii with my wife and it did not skip a beat. I took turns wearing the EL2, a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, and D Blue. All performed exactly the same although the dedicated divers had a rotating bezel in the case my dive computer failed.
Forgot to say that I have worn my EL2 while playing golf, squash, tennis, basketball, skiing, snowboarding, diving, sky-diving, bungey jumping, mountain climbing, trekking, cycling, and probably several other things I am forgeting. I have put it through it's intended use and I can give an honest testimonial for it's durability and practicality. It is a watch I am not afraid to wear in ANY active occasion.
I, like you, and a few others here would love to see JLC produce an EL3 and hopefully they will surprise us yet again with another MONSTER of a watch. Here is hoping for the best.
