Help! Master Control Automatic vs. Master Hometime
Hello,
Been in the San Francisco Bay Area for the last few days watch shopping and enjoying myself. In Carmel, found a JLC dealer I liked (pretty obvious which one...as there is only one...and there is only one main man there!) and looked at the base Master Control and the Master Hometime.
I liked both, but he told me that the Master Hometime had a slightly better movement (but the other one certainly was not 'bad') which I guess is true.
Trying to decide which one to go with. Few things:
-I liked both
-I would never use the 24-hour/dual time zone (I rarely travel, and I would not take the watch overseas).
-I will add a nice sport watch in a year or two (this will probably end up being more of my dress watch at that time).
-The cost difference (about $1500) is definitely a concern - even the less-expensive one was pushing what I wanted to spend at this point. Thats a lot of money for a college kid with a part time job!
-While I plan on keeping this watch for a long time, it will definitely not be my last watch.
-FWIW, he is making me a good deal (send me a message if you want to know about that, I'd love to compare notes!), so if I decide to upgrade down the road, I will not take a huge bath.
I have see the Master Control Automatic is a very popular watch here and on some other watch forums, so its definitely popular!
Any advice would be appreciated, and if you have any advice you would rather give via e-mail, I would enjoy that as well.
Thanks!!!
Ken H.

Hi Ken, for what it's worth, the Hometime would be my choice. Before going further, this assumes you are comfortable with the larger size (both thickness and diameter, if my recollection is right). The autotractor movement is a big plus (see excellent rev...
