Grande GMT doesn't suit me :(
Bad news guys. Some of you might remember that I was planning to get the Grande GMT because it looks like the perfect watch for me (feature-wise).
But then on my previous trip, I actually tried it on in person and it didn't suit me at all. Not because it's too thick but it's because it looks rather thin on my wrist.
It's such a gorgeous watch in person, but unfortunately it doesn't look good on my wrist. I am very disappointed with this because it's the watch that I really like.
Oh well at least my wallet will thank me for that. Now it looks like I have to look for other watches, but I really like the idea of 8 days power reserve manual wind, and unfortunately the other 8 days are not really my taste. Well the IWC is nice but I don't really like IWC as a brand. I also don't like Panerai watches... looks like I have to forget the idea of having a week-long power reserve watch then...
On a side note during the trip, I got for my partner the Reverso, and it really looks very nice on her. Lucky her, not me, haha...

Is it the 8 days power reserve that’s important to you? Otherwise if it’s a Reverso you are after but think the XGT case is to thin, you might consider the Reverso Squadra? Most of the days when I wear the Rverso GMT if feels great! But some d...

What I like about GMT is the whole package, really. I love both dials at the front and back, and 8 days PR (because I plan to use it as weekend watch) and the overall Reverso style. I might look for round version but perpetual in precious metal is out of ...

I might try the Squadra the next time I am at the shop, but I still prefer a handwound watch in general though... But most probably I won't be getting a watch this year and maybe wait and see what the next release brings.

Hi, from your post, I think you should try on Grand Reverso 986 new model. It's a lot bigger than Grande GMT. Although it's reserve only around 40 hours on power, but I think it might suit you on it's dimension. Good luck.
