Seconde foudroyante
May 29, 2016,20:17 PM
I was looking recently at the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire. Can someone please explain the purpose of the Seconde foudroyante in that model?
I can understand that in the Chronograph it is engaged only as part of the chronograph function. In the QL however it seems to be whizzing around all the time and to perform no useful function (as it is impossible to get any useful information from it unless it stops).
A moon-phase watch generally imparts a feeling of serenity and I'm not sure that I could live with that mad little foudroyante.

After lunch, more "Sleepless in Paris" will come. Something like, "Let's not allow Vlad to sleep". Cheers, Nilo

The Q.L is dedicated to accuracy, not to the moonphase.

The moonphase in the QL is not exceptionally accurate- one day each 2, 5 years- while the hidden idea behind this Duometre is precision. It is not only one stop second, when you pull the crown, but two! The diablotine ( not a foudroyante, as the foudroyan...

The funny thing of your video is that I wondered if the chrono hand would catch up with the second one Must be hard to stop looking at it! All the best, E.
