MC Divers.....Speak Up!

May 31, 2008,02:00 AM

My Master Compressor Diver (chrono on articulated bracelet) has been serving me faithfully for several weeks now.  Each time I look at it I am amazed at not just the workmanship, but the way it fits so perfectly on my average size wrist -- the watch is fairly large at 44 mm and thick, yet the whole package has been designed to sit and fit right on a wrist.  Many kudos to JLC.  It is my first JLC (having owned, and/or owning, many other "haute" brands such as AP, PP, GP, Rolex, PAM, etc)....and this one is in a league of its own.  (Not to knock the others, because they are all great watches too, no doubt).

Also, as a long-time lurker on the JLC board, I notice an ever-growing interest and renewed spark in the JLC brand.  Keep up the good work JLC.....I wonder what my next JLC is going to be! smile  I may order the leather strap for this watch to "dress it up" a bit.

By way of comparison, it is probably best compared in aesthetics to some of the AP Offshore ... larger case, sporty looking, and quite versatile (I think it's fine for daily wear regardless of apparel, but I do know that a "sports watch" is an asbolute no-no for some of our more sartorally knowledgable friendssmile).......I find the JLC to be at least as fine as the AP ROO, and the pricepoint of the JLC makes it an absolute no-brainer as a must-have watch (for ME at least!).....I have been fairly accurate in predicting some of the market trends, and I think that JLC is about to just "take off" in terms of popular demand (not that it's a slouch right now by any stretch of the imagination anway!)

Would love to hear from other JLC diver owners....I think that they are starting to trickle into the marketplace a bit more frequently as of late, so maybe there are some other of my JLC brothers from a different mother who would like to chime in!

Regards!

PS.  The articulated bracelet, to me at least, is quite reiminiscent of the Cartier articulated on its "diver" model watch.  To me there seems to be some Richemont influence, which is fine, since Richement (to me) is such an amazing luxury group of products!

I purchased a Diver GMT earlier this spring. Like Nicolas, I also thought that a leather strap would be most attractive, but I have grown extremely fond of the plain rubber strap. It really feels and looks like a true diver (rugged and beautiful) in this ...

KFR- What a great post. I have been looking for that perfect casual/sport chrono for about a year and when I first saw the 1000M Chrono I knew that the search was over. I was ready to purchase a Panerai PAM 196 but it did not appeal to me on my wrist. I l...
