I quite agree that it's hard to understand how the artist can capture all the details in this scale. Fascinating - and beautiful. Of the two watches I must say I prefer the "Great Wave" - on both the recto and the verso!
True. Just thinking it would be nice to be able to see that wonderful artwork all the time.. or heck maybe make it a duo. By the way, i prefer the kanagawa waves but with the pattern on the second one..

Here we are in total agreement. Kanagawa waves with the blue dial on the recto and the guilloché of the Green. Now, having the Kanagawa waves on the recto would not be tops...
In terms of legibility and you would maybe prefer having the painting on the verso for your selfish pleasure, WHEN you want to see it. And not all the time, don't you think?

Considering the price of basic tool watches I’d rather get high complications or wonderful art like this.
