As a result of my last email to JLC Customer Services I received the following email/letter today.
Dear Mr. X,
I just called on your phone number and reached a nice lady.
I am pleased to inform you that the repair of your timepiece will be taken under warranty.

My wife received a call from them this morning on my phone explaining that they had re-considered and would now repair the watch under warranty. This is extremely good news and shows that persistence can pay off. Well done to JLC for agreeing with my position.
