An impressive piece of Haute Horologie !

1s per day !!!

That's what I like really.

Nicolas, could you consider doing a review on the new Ultra Thin Tourbillion sometime soon?

That would be more "accessible" than this sphero.

Many thanks

JLC SIHH 2012: The Duometre à Spherotourbillon.

 By: amanico : January 22nd, 2012-23:33
If you allow me to paraphrase the famous advertizing about the Duometre, in this case I would say " One watch, Tow Chapters of the JLC Book ". Clearly, the all new Duometre à Sphérotourbillon belongs to the Duometre family thanks to its original concept, ...

Magical post about extraordinary piece

once more you gave us first hand info about this amazing novelty from JLC The movement looks gorgeous of course I prefer RG piece Another thing I like is applied logo on buckle..nice touch. Now I'm curious about the next one the direction JLC will make wi...

Their collection of high end pieces starts to be impressive, I agree.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-01:15
I would have hard time choosing between the Gyro I and this Spherotourbillon, by the way. If only I could have this kind of problem or dilemma! Believe me, you're not he only one to suffer. But isn't it a delicious torture? Best, my friend. Torquemaded Ni...

Last?

 By: watchme : January 23rd, 2012-05:05
Nicolas, You used the word, "Last," in your opening. Do you mean "latest?" -Dean

Ooops, thanks for the correction.

Me a bit Borat, you know... Best, Nicolas

Very impressed..

 By: moc : January 23rd, 2012-00:54
I was very impressed when i handled it ,the main feature for me is that JLC managed to keep it in a Duometre size case, making this watch wearable and elegant, what a great effort. Technically ,its magical, the same kind of magic that the Gyro produces,aeste...

Nicely put, my friend.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-02:04
This is a hyper elegant watch, not a one night love, but love for life. The more you see it, the better you understand it, and then, you love it. I love the direction JLC took, with this Sphero: Understatement at its paroxysm. As for the finish of the oth...

Yes I agree...

 By: moc : January 23rd, 2012-02:14
that wouldn t bother me,I love my Duos so much anyway that I wouldn t mind have payed more... Mo

A review as I love them

Full of tehcnical elements added to impressions .... As far as I'm concerned, technical issues and particularities of a watch are as important as its look and I wish so often I would find more such details in reviews when dealing with a great timepiece. T...

There is much more to say about the Sphero, Mark.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-04:22
And no doubt that we'll come back to it later. As for the level of finish, check than anglages, for example: They are much deeper on the Sphero than on the two former models. The decoration, though, is very close, in terms of aesthetics. I am impressed by...

This is absolutely breathtaking. Sometimes I must remind myself to realize...

 By: Ruckdee : January 23rd, 2012-03:19
...that the mechanical magic on the screen or on the wrist is actually a wristwatch after all. Thank you for this unique insider's view of what went behind the scene before we can see such splendor at the show. Ruckdee

Nothing can beat the real experience, Ruckdee.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-04:23
You will see the ballet of the Sphero, which is dangerously envouting... Best, and thanks for your input, Ruckdee. Nicolas

breathtaking post Nico! Awesome! [nt]

Thank you for such an inspired account of this piece. Also amazed at how you're able to maintain this level of energy right out of SIHH. Again, thank you.

Thanks, Echi.

There was a lot of blood to drink, at the SIHH... + Many holes in some nacks, after my visit. Best, Nicolas

I prefer Platinum.

 By: grigo : January 23rd, 2012-04:43
Great write-up Nicolas, definitely the watch of the year for me. Best regards, George

Me too, but it is not a surprise, is it? :)

Many things to say, Respo.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-06:35
Agree with you on the finish of the Duometre... Good, but it could be better ( the Chrono and the Q.L ), at this horological level. As for the 2d Time Zone provided on the Sphero, there are two things: First of all it is another complication. Why not? I h...

Impressive Nico

 By: E.S : January 23rd, 2012-07:01
Bravo to JLC, every year they bring their technical savvy to horology world, I think this piece is much better than Gyro, as Sphero dont have ball cage outside the tourbi, and as for the hairspring, as Dje said, it is like a d*mn hearbeat, simply mesmeris...

The tough thing is to try to find OUR favourite watch.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-07:41
The JLC catalog of high end pieces is getting bigger and bigger, each year. I would say Gyro I, because I am always faithful to my first love, but hey, this Sphero is far from being an uninteresting option! Thanks for sharing your opinion here, E.S. Best,...

You can be proud of your MUT 34!

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-13:40
It is an excellent part of JLC genius. The Sphero is a brilliant and understated demonstration of JLC mastery, indeed. It left me a very strong impression. Thanks for your kind words, Rob. Nicolas.

Best of JLC , last decade album.

-The best Idea of JLC this last ten years, or let's say the most remarkable one was the Gyrotourbillon. It is here different but we find somthing in the idea. A very impressive Tourbillon with this magnificent spring like a deck watch. And the finish is t...

I am a big fan of the Duometre, as you know, Francçois.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-13:46
So you can imagine my impatience to discover a new member of this family. I often said it, but the Duometre-whatever is the model- is a brilliant watch, with a nice dial, a great case ( a tad thinner would be great, but the movement is an obstacle to thin...

Fantastic review !

A superb review for a great watch

 By: foversta : January 23rd, 2012-11:37
First of all, thanks a lot for this comprehensive review. The watch deserves it. It is a very clever use of the dualwing concept. Actually, I was never convinced by the stop tourbillon by Lange due to the fact that the balance wheel needs several seconds ...

Thank you Nicolas

Certainly on my top three list of favourites watches at the SIHH.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-14:09
And I would rank it number one, too. Not because it is a JLC, but because it is my conception of a very fine watch, from the case to the dial and movement. Very convincing watch, from the Grande Maison. Thanks for your input! Best, my friend. Nicolas

Thank you Nicolas...

No idea about that, Neil.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-14:14
But I don't think you will see a JLC Boutique in NY, this year. As fro the watch, it is good to be lost, when it is with such a delicious timekeeper. Best, my friend. Nicolas

brilliant review

 By: sgexpat : January 23rd, 2012-21:57
this is such a fine timepiece I would find it hard to believe another offer at sihh could top it in terms of excitement. this really does act as a wonderful flagship to JLC's high end line. that said, I hope some folks sell their other Duometres to buy th...

Defintely a top piece from the SIHH 2012. And certainly THE top watch.

 By: amanico : January 23rd, 2012-22:54
The Q.L or the Chrono are far from being bad choices, Pat. The Sphero is the same and a different Duometre, like a member of the same family. These Duometres are driving me crazy! Best, Nicolas

Impressive Spherotourbillon from JLC

 By: ED209 : January 23rd, 2012-23:40
Great report Nicolas. The Spherotourbillon is very impressive and one of my favorite pieces from this year's SIHH. Regards, ED-209

Thanks for your input, Ed.

A Starn is born, this year, probably. Best, Nicolas

Beautiful, is it me or is the font size on the platinum one bigger?

 By: Robert_ : January 24th, 2012-07:28
I think I like the smaller font size better. regards Robert

I think it is you... Or, at least, my pictures.

 By: amanico : January 24th, 2012-07:33
Just reviewed the pictures, and to me, the font is the same... A visual effect from the angle I took the pictures? Best, Nicolas

Still no difference. I'd better go and see my optician this weekend. Good weekend to you and love to see what the new week will bring

:) Maybe is it due to the angle of the picture?
