Correct, 80 pieces for Asian market, out of the 500 total platinum. 80 because they didnt use nr 4 in the series, bad luck nr in Asia. www.goerter.de also has a great website on the MArk XII pieces

Nice, but I find the use of platinum a bit of "overkill" here, if there
is such a thing. To me this is a so called "tool watch" and should be only stainless steel. Just an opinion but I think platinum should be reserved for more of a "dress watch" As mentioned, just an opinion.

So I went looking for more info. Apparently, this exact model you posted was intended for the Asian market and this other version with the blue dial was for the rest of the world (I think). Still digging... ...
