Bringing back a classic Ingenieur - This caught my attention
Oct 27, 2020,17:22 PM
aBlogtoWatch : The other day my friend and colleague Zach Piña
posted one heck of an all-gold Ingenieur SL on his personal account and
we started chatting about it. He wanted me to ask you what, if any,
plans you have for the IWC Ingenieur’s foreseeable future.
Christian Knoop : Yeah, that’s a great-looking piece. The thing is that
this look is so popular and so visible at the moment. For sure, we have
thought about bringing the Ingenieur back, but this maybe is not the
ideal point in time. This will appear like a kind of AP-copy to most of
the people who are not that familiar with the history, and that even
includes some of our customers who have been fans and connoisseurs of
our other designs. We are watching this and we think about a historic
Ingenieur a lot, but I don’t think it’s the right time to come up with
something like this.
He says the look is popular now and yet it's not the right time to come up with something like this? What gives?

Wearing my Royal Oak Chrono now and love the Ingenieur, but never cared for the Nautilus. This design is certainly different enough to stand on it's own.

they should not have shelved this Ingenieur design in the first place.

Seriously though, if they're going to relaunch it, they need to consolidate their catalog, go with the tried and tested tribute approach with limited eds of the 666 and the "jumbo", then reimagine those 2 for the regular catalog. For sport, I quite like t...

Not the right time???

Advertising is the way to explain the Ingenier's history. Saying it isn't the right time means NEVER!

What kind of sense does that make, Hublot has copied the Royal Oak with success, his comments are bewildering??? Genta design stands alone in my opinion.
The DNA is magnetic !!!

Seems more and more posting about their favorite. I remain 1832 biased with great support from family and super friends who share the passion. This guy still wears the best and has at every angle the GENTA DNA. Love them. ...
