Why bother with it at all?
Somebody with the finances and a marketing concept seeks out a designer and a notable watchmaker or a specialist firm to realize his/ their concept in order to find a good starting position on the horological map.
A lot of hot air - or air too thin to breathe?
For the race ???
This is the raw stuff of market speculation.
Or a write-off enterprise for tax purposes.
There are as always exceptions - one of them, for me, being Hautlence. Although I have never seen any of their watches - live - I find them attractive and desirable, if only for me.
Others at mega-prices are objects of mega-lust for the most of us who do not belong to High Rollers.
The big brands do whatever they can and want - and can get away with - to sell themselves for maximum prestige - and hence - for profit.
Enjoy it while you can - your offspring may sneer at that for you
