I have had the pleasure having in-depth conversations with quite a number of independent watch makers in various settings. The conversations have always been wide ranging from watches to child rearing to philosophy to vacations to pets, drinks and the like. To learn about the person and to really learn about the philosophy behind the watches that they produce, a broad ranging conversation about life and such can provide more insight then restricting the conversation to only that of watch making.
