Hi All, At IGOTT2 Max Busser described the inspiration for many of his designs as coming from his childhood memories of comics and science fiction films . The shuriken and the battle-axe appear in several of his watches. I snapped these wonderful cufflink...

.... for a while I thought I was going to see cufflinks the look of the MB&F Frog. If that ever happened, I'll be the first in line to get one!

but my immediate thought was of Darth Vaders Tai Fighter with the curved wings.!! If these go round like a real rotor then I'll be impressed Yours, Andy.

Hi Don, these cufflinks are an MB&F limited edition. There were 50 pieces each in 18K white and rose gold with black mother of pearl inlay that really catches the sunlight. Very cool, as are all Max’s creations! Regards Andrew

Hi Justin. Too kind. But unfortunately these photos were taken at an AD and the cufflinks did not leave with me. I was tempted, but thought I should own an MB&F watch first! Actually there are some cufflinks I would love from Breguet and F.P.Journe to go ... 

I generally frown upon watchmakers making accessories. Cartier et al being exception, since they are jeweellery based brands. But when a watchmaker starts doing pens, cuffs, belts, etc...I get worried. Just me, best, Horo

But for some reason I view cufflinks as complementary wristwear. I would draw the line at matching belt buckles, wallets, keychains, rings, etc. But I can also understand why some would want to be identified with a favourite brand and its products/image. ... 

In some ways, if the watch maker decides on designing a set of cuffs, one can argue that they would only be successful if the product itself has a strong design theme...PP nautilus, AP royal oak, PSM and MBF to some extent..one for distinctive lugs and th... 

business - he did desk accessories first and the architecture of his watches followed that of his pen holders, etc. Not an independent by our definition, but still it's a fun piece in my collection. Otherwise I agree, they (watchmakers) should stick to th...  

Good point Horo ! In fact I had a pair of those crafted initially in 2008 for myself - Thought they complemented our HM1 and HM2 very well. But then, when I travelled around the world many people wanted to have the same. So, even though indeed it is not o... 

There is something to be said for giving the customer what he/she wants. Horo is right, we love watchmakers for making watches. Some of us love Cartier watches or Montblanc watches for the watches rather than the other products. Watches for us always come... 

It's interesting how things evolve. And I noticed the cufflinks in the display case even before the watches! Very cool and congruent design. Andrew
