Three explanations...

 

1. Exhibition conditions I: I took the images at day three or four of the fair, so its highly likely that the main springs were already fully wound and thus offered significant resistance to the rotors.


2. Exhibition conditions II: Note that the movement is not encased. Dust may have settled on it and interfere with smooth rotation.

3. Base movement: In the context of note (1) it may simply be that this is a characteristic of the ETA 2824-2 base movement, particularly if fully wound.
