Artisanal collectors care about hand-finishing, small size, background of the watchmakers and aesthetics. At least for me I do look at these attributes before I transfer my hard-earned money to them.

The fact that most new brands start at 80k plus nowadays is for me impossible to get in and try it out . Years ago i could buy a nice indie for a decent price without having to fear that if i don’t like it that much i will lose a arm or leg.

…with those designs they are gunning for the RM crowd, but arguably at a much more realistic (relative to RM) price point. To pull that RM crowd you need something more than technical chops and watchmaking chops. More generally on winners and not winners ... 

I have bought from the no waitlist one and have seriously considered the small one, the latest release with an unique aesthetics and an unique sounding name.

I hardly believe one independent deserves way more attention than another. It's just how well they get around with clients & potential clients. Plus once a bunch have bought in, those buyers have great incentive to keep the hype going.
