Because thanks to your pictures, I have bought and paid for a "Double Moon", ready a month or two before I start wearing some other of his watches, like the Harvest Moon.
This particular piece - it will not come in a unique version for me - has inspired me to invent new names for it: the last one being "The Twin Loonies".
Just now I am calling it "Showdown", not referring to our friends Down Under, but to those classic "Westerns" where the two opponents the hero and the outlaw-bandit, square off and face each other, each ready to draw his revolver. Earlier in the movie one of them had said, "This town is not big enough for both of us". Could it be Hamburg?
Yes, Hamburg under grey, thick, cloudy skies, especially in the winter, is ideal for the "Northern Stars" in its white metal version, where white gold or silver and steel become virtually indistinguishable from each other. What I find especially beguiling about is their invitation to look actually under the indices and the moon frame, that cast magical shadows in this crystaline world of ice. Who needs diamonds and platinum here?
And it warms my soul.
Cheers,
Amery
