I just received this fantastic Lang & Heyne Friedrich III. This is not a brand you see, or hear of, often. There are only 2 AD’s in the USA and L&H only produce about 50-60 watches annually. I currently own or have owned Patek, Lange, Vacheron, UJ...  

The movement is glorious and reminds me of Glashutte pocket watch style, but taken to extreme levels of finishing. Is the cap stone of the balance pivot diamond? Is there any shock protection? Is the movement gold? Love the triple lugs too.

The cap stone is indeed a diamond. To be honest, I'm not sure about shock protection. The movement is brass that has been gold plated. The wheels are all 14K gold.

The cap diamond is purely for aesthetics, with a traditional shock protection system underneath it. Marco's original design was to give a nod to traditional Saxon/Glashutte watchmakers, who used a diamond as the end stone for high grade pocket watches pri...

Is definitely a step up from Lange, Patek or VC. Seems to be close to Gronefeld? Would you agree?

I like the style of the Gronefeld movement slightly better but in comparison to my 1941 Principia, the LH is better finished. As beautiful as the Gronefeld is, I found some flaws with the Gronefeld finishing at least on my piece. The only watch that I hav...

YES! this dial is a very cool "modern" version of what they typically do. It also comes in Black, see picture. Also with different handset. The hands on mine are great. They are not " lummed just ceramic filled. Incredible legibility in all lighting excep...

I agree its difficult to find any faults, and the watch is far more impressive in the metal.
