Ressence 5X Automobili Amos

I posted here about 10 days ago asking for some opinions on Ressence's type 5 and type 3. Thanks to those who were kind enough to offer their valuable insights. I eventually settled on the type 5, as I preferred the larger diameter case, and the diving level of waterproofness at least to me sounded more robust.

I ultimately wound up finding a cool limited edition Ressence 5X, Automobili Amos edition. It's one of only 40 made as collaboration between Ressence and Automobili Amos, to celebrate Ressence's 10th Anniversary - hence the 'X' designation.  Unlike a typical dive watch's bezel, it's equipped with a unique bezel to measure turbocharged engine warming and cooling times. Automobili Amos is apparently known for their resto-mods of 1980s Lancia Rally cars. The brown alcantara strap pictured below matches their car's interiors.

As a hard car automotive junky (long before my recent watch fixation), I couldn't pass up on this version.

Worn it a few times. As an added plus to me, particularly in these days when people's watches are being stolen off their wrists, no one knows what it is. Most folks think it is a smart watch, in spite of it being fully mechanical.

(photos below pulled off the web courtesy of watchesbysjx, as my iphone shots are lousy - I can't figure out how to get rid of the glare and reflection)

Looking forward to some wrist shots and other thoughts once it’s on your wrist.

Here is a wrist shot. As large as it is at 46mm, it doesnt wear crazy large because of the lugs. So far I enjoy everything but the winding/setting/locking mechanism - which at least to me is unique, but rather difficult…. It could be a very nice daily wat...

Congrats!

Did you buy it from EWC?? If so, I tried to buy it but my SA there said it was put on hold 30 minutes prior. I was bummed. Such a cool reference!

Yep. Sorry to unintentionally beat you to it. My first dealing with EWC, and Josh was a pleasure to deal with and the whole operation most professional. I suspect more future dealings to come.

It is a very cool piece. It wears most comfortably on my wrist as well. I love the design elements and the automotive theme. The locking ring mechanism (to ensure dive level waterproofness) and the setting/winding mechanism certainly are novel and take so...
