When I placed my order with Daniel Roth (the man) for a Jean Daniel Nicolas tourbillon back in 2007 I had never even heard of Maitres du Temps. None of us had. MdT lauched its Chapter One watch at Basel in 2008 and then its Chapter Two at Basel in 2009. T...
I imagine that some people who are attracted to independent watchmaking but fearful of future servicing issues might like the fact that a major movement manufacturer is behind Chapter Two. Bill
Great snaps of the MdT Chapter Two! I go back and forth in my mind about whether or not I like the roller display of the month and day, but there's no denying that the watch has a great visual presence. I'm looking forward to learning more about the piece...
I like the roller display, and think it is much better suited to the day and month indicators as in the Chapter Two than in the moonphase of the Chapter One, though I have yet to see Chapter One in person. Bill
In Basel last year with one of the designers, Peter Speake-Marin. It was great to hear about his collaboration with M. Dubuis & M. Roth, both of whom, he as the youngest member of the trio, by several years; has enormous respect for. He told me he particu...
Looking watch. I really like the dial - hands execution and the case proportions look reasonable enough to wear as a daily. Great coordination (although, I'm sure unintended) with your sport coat/dial color combination, Tim.
Hi Tim Your are right, pictures says more than a thousand words. In case of these pictures I have to correct you.. more than a million words Best regards Hans
I assume this is a perpetual calendar, though, right? It's not merely a triple/full calendar that needs adjustment for shorter months, or an annual calendar that needs adjustment for February, is it? DJK
It is not an annual calendar either. You would have to correct for months of less than 31 days. The pusher just above the crown will quickly correct the date, and the correctors for the Month and Day are on the case back (see the photo). Bill
the rollers are made of aluminum, and so are very light. I don't expect that there would be any undue wear and tear on them when compared with the calendar mechanisms of other watches. Bill
