MB&F LM2 and Its Inspiration -- New Photos!

Greetings to all!  Our NorCal gang and other invited guests had the great honor of dining with Max Büsser earlier this week as he swung through our area on his way back to Switzerland from Asia.  An added treat for me was the opportunity to spend a couple of hours photographing the RG and WG versions of this watch back at the house, along with the watch that Max has credited as the inspiration for the HM2 -- one of the all time greats, the Dufour Duality.

A lot has been said already about the LM2, so I'll keep it brief -- for me it is a really compelling watch.  Mesmerizing to see the two balances swing, pause briefly, and then fire off in the other direction -- and the wrist presence is great.  Right at the maximum size for my wrist (I'll post a wrist shot or two separately) but very comfortable and sits well, too.

A super-duper bonus was the ability to match the LM2 up with its inspiration -- a good friend's Duality.  Definite goose-bump territory for yours truly...

I prefer the WG version, so spent most of my brief available time photographing it -- had I been thinking, I likely would have started with the RG version, as the reflections from the darker dial of the WG watch were murder to deal with!  There was also the constraint that all three watches were fully wound and running, which took some potential angles and photo ideas (e.g., stacks of the Duality dial) out of the mix -- and you can see that the LM2 balance wheels were whirring away!

Enough talking -- how about some photos?

My standard apology/disclaimer here for the PuristS photo uploader, which seems to exist to do violence to resolution, lighting, and saturation but otherwise does a fine job...

Hope you enjoyed!

Best,

Gary G
