Talk about a dedicated and focused fellow, pursuing his passion of traditional English style watchmaking under his own terms, well almost his own, having Dr. Daniels to focus his attention and comfort for advice if and when needed.
I'd say the other aspect is that he is a genuine good guy, and someone to share his life's work with. This level of watchmaking is far beyond a job, it is akin to a life long pursuit of passion & perfection of one's craft.
This is compelling to people who appreciate fine craftsmanship in any genre, whether it be watches, painting, fine woodworked furniture, a fabulous Persian rug, a fine handmade piece of jewelry etc. etc.
I think Roger's story is a great one and I hope more people get to hear about it with exhibitions like this.
Cheers,
Tim
