can be small or big, those are just different scales. So Patek is independent as much as i.e. Voutilainen in case the whole decision in the end is in the hands of one man.
When it comes to Rolex, I don't know. The foundation owning the company makes it a bit complicated to understand.
Even in my thoughts both Patek and Voutilainen are independents, they are very different manufacturers. Most of the watches of Patek are industrially made and hand finished while Voutilainen's watches are completely hand made.
