While indie watches usually have..... let's just say bismal.... resale valye, they create something truly spectacular that I believe goes much better with the direction that the entire watchmaking industry is heading towards, which is creating works of art instead of practical pieces of machinery. Below are some more of my fav watchmakers with some more unsuaul displays

Masahiro Kikuno, one of, if not my fav, Japanese watchmaker who made this timepiece that is based not on the 12 hour western time but on the old Japanese time system called Wadokei which is based on the seasons. Very cool

Another Konstantin watch which may look simple but is based upon the Hebrew Calender and so goes anticlockwise and on the back, shows the minutes and seconds of the Jewish faith

Similar time display to Anderson Geneve but with a beautiful painting on top. Made by Angular Momentum

Cabestan watch that is massive but so cool with a barrel like time style similar to the Rebellion timepiece down below. Very well finished and absolutely amazing

Wonderful new indie watchmaker who makes some very interesting and amazing timepieces that are beautifully finished. He has developed a unique escapement and the watch uses a key, similar to pocket watches, to wind and set the time. Very cool piece by Cyril Brivet

The watch that first began my wonderful journey into the world of watchmaking! Christopher Claret’s ”betl watch"

Emmanuel Bouchet’s watch is really cool as it uses an unsually escapement and tells the time using a regulator. Although, everytime I see his watches, I think of Immunel Kant

Of course, Konstantin, who is no stranger in creating new ways to tell time. This one tells the time only through the hours but with a push of a button, tellls the minutes as well

Lin Yong Hua, a Chinese watch maker, makes this relatively affordable watch (around 8,000 USD) that is based upon the number 8, which is a lucky number in Chinese culture. The majority of the watch is made by him and the finishing is extremely good for the price.

Ludovic Ballouard upside down watches which have been a staple of the independent watchmaking world for a while but still are an amazing work of art and very fun way of telling the time.

Rebellion watch which is amazingly dramatic and out of this world. Has a front facing tourbillon with a barrel time telling mechanism and a very long power reserve. Incredible time peice

A school watch by Tixier Julien, very excited to see his next piece

The one, the only, Thomas Prescher and his retrograde watches with beautifully carvings

Qin gan, a chinese watchmaker who can minute repeaters and automation as well and stylizes his watches in classical chinese style

Arnold and Son star wheel, which is made not really by an independent but still very cool and the brand has a lot of freedom interms of design and so does really interesting timpieces

Hautelence, the well known watch brand making some very cool retrograde watches

While this is using the typical 12 hour system, how many watches are made almost completely out of wood and made in Ukraine, I can only think of Valerii Danevych’s watches. Stunning works of art that only use wood

Another chinese watch maker that uses a complication similar to the Parmigiani Ovale Pantographe but done differently. Absolutely amazing piece by AHCI member Xushu Ma

Bovet, one of my fav watchbrands which makes everything in house and makes watches that really stand out, even without making their time very unsual. This one is a jumping hour watch

Mostly the ones trying to find alternative, innovative ways to show time. After Urwerk, my first, I chose a HYT Blue Night ...

Super cool 😎...

The HYT is prone to hits because of its high profile, 1.8 cm. Having almost the shape of a dome, I hope it is tough enough to take most of them. it should be worn with care, though... And yes, it is cool! Best, R

Thanks, Geo!

Thank you for taking the time to put all these together! Some of the brands, mostly the Chinese ones, I did not even know.
