I am a big supporter of the independents. That may be an understatement. I am not concerned about the future need for servicing. I would strongly urged you not to be concerned either. For the most part

there will always be someone able to work on the watches. It may be a bit challenging on some of the more unique ones but certainly for the less complicated ones there will always be someone to service the watch. In fact I do know that some of the independents are quite able to work on virtually any piece. Remember many of them had their early careers in restoration.
If you still are concerned don’t be.

I think that’s how it starts ... doesn’t it? Same with Kurt Klaus, only I have had 3-4 of his. And Paul Gerber, several of his. And G-R Lang - multiple Chronoswiss Oechslin & Beat = two Ochs & junior Best way to get hooked is to meet the makers, I think. ...
