I admire that discipline.
A collector I meet with frequently in HK had referenced him in advance of the first watch. Even though the price point wasn’t crazy (and almost modest, if you can say that about thousands of dollars, by comparison to the II pricing), it was still way too much for me without a chance to try something on.
Bang for buck independents
Who do you guys think is out there and relatively unrecognized/doing great work at the price point? Examples: -First run of pascal coyon -Initial Felipe Pikullik (although I think his work is still great value for what you get)
Not seen one in the metal, but from everything else I’ve seen or heard this seems to be a good call.

No, sir. I came very close to ordering the first Pastorale AND the Pastorale II but I passed both times...
I haven't bought a new watch in years becuase I keep asking myself, "how does this new one fill a hole in my collection?" And each time the answer is that it doesn't.

In a much more modest price range i have found these two to my liking.

Still not really recognized, still underrated. Of course if you mean by independents some 1-3 person operation in startup mode, they will not qualify.
For me Felipe Pikullik and Lecomte were great watches for there price point.
But like almost everything the prices went up significantly for most independents . Habring or Kudoke maybe still a bang for your buck imo ...
