here you go...

hi Bill, not sure whether you know one of the ADs (Sincere Fine Watches Co.) has sit up a watch academy in Singapore, they regularly organize talks, tours etc to educate and share watch knowledge to public.

yesterday evening, they organized a gathering titled "Meeting of the Masters – Maitres du Temps and Jean Dunand". Daniel Roth was presenting at the event simply because he is one of watchmakers for the Chapter 2.

my first impression of the Chapter 2 is much down to earth, at least in terms of size of the casing which is smaller than the Chapter 1. it fits much better to my small wrist.

for this Chapter 2, it has big date, day and month functions which sounds perpetual calendar. as briefed by Daniel, the interesting feature of this watch is that the buttons for adjusting month and day are hiding behind at the caseback. Interesting thing is that they do not look like the button, in fact they are lthe push. since the pushes are located at the caseback, sometimes you may forgot how many times you have done the adjusting, thus the clever way is that there is a tiny number to show you the month and day which corresponds with that in front. (not sure you can follow my description).

the event was very well attended, lot of questions were asked.

apart from the Chapter 2, two models of Jean Dunand were also introduced - Ultra and Shabaka. But I am interested in Ultra more.

cheers,

stefan
