FPJ Centrigraphe movement - Foudroyante hand motion

Riddler's new purchase encouraged me to think about what is going on here.

As far as I can tell from playing with this, it appears that the 100th hand is stopping at 1/6 s intervals.  For each 1/6s interval the hand is still for 1/3 of the time and in motion for 2/3.

Interestingly the hand impulses are at the following points (in100ths) (167/1000 s apart)

5, 22, 38, 55, 72, 88

The recorded time will always be 'short', but of a maximum of about 56/1000 s.

(can someone check my working. smile )

Whilst not a true chronograph it's still pretty accurate, unless you're trying to measure a 1/10th of a second and record 1/20th. lol
