Calling all vintage Angelus experts...
Jul 02, 2019,10:28 AM
Hello all,
Since I was asked to judge last week's WristScan and chose an Angelus U40 as my winner, I've done a little research on the brand. You need to know, also, that I'm a fan of so-called "Dr.s watches." SO. Imagine my surprise in turning up this this model from 1960 (photo from the Angelus website, History section).
So much to admire: monopusher—seriously devoted to its specific task; respiration scale as well as pulse; pulse scale based on 10—rather than 15 or 30—beats (what Dr. is going to count heartbeats for a full 30 seconds in an emergency?), AND this scale magnified! Whoa… I'd never seen anything like it. Have any of you? Does some lucky Purist actually own one?
It will require some add'l digging to find out how many were made. But I think this is the coolest Dr.s watch I've ever seen. A true tool watch.
Thanks in advance for your answers! FH
