My initial off-the-cuff impression is that Alain Silberstein's design is actually an improvement on the slightly too-busy dial side of the original HM2. However, this would have to be ratified by a real-time side-to-side comparison, an opportunity which seems unlikely to present itself to me any time soon.
I never knew that Max was half-Indian. While it seems a whimsical stretch to invoke this mixed parentage as an explanation for his "constant drive to combine flawless traditional quality with creative imagination run wild", it certainly does account for his rather dashing good looks.
Finally, I'm intrigued by the comprehensive listing of "friends" at the end of the press release, right down to photography and website design. This approach really turns the secretive Swiss "cabinotier" tradition on its head. For years now we have had well-resourced brands falling all over themselves to prove their manufacture credentials to the world. Max is doing the exact opposite, and with disarming honesty. "Nope, it's just me - the ideas guy - and everything else is outsourced, to people I trust - here are their names!"
I like that. Just wish I could afford one of his watches.
Cheers
