You may know that I am privileged to own Bullet Bang #01/500, with the column wheel movement. It was a gift from our Managing Director for the very good sales we had in 2008. I wear it a lot, in fact have it on my wrist as I type this.
The case is made of "cermet," which is actually CERamic and METal (in this case powdered tungsten) which yields the hardest man-made material on earth. Cermet is used for tank armour and tiles for the space shuttle and bullet proof vests. This case is completely unscratchable, and is quite a conversation piece as nobody (even jewelers) can figure out the material, especially after I take my pocket knife to it!
To me this is a quintessential Hublot, clearly showing the fusion of innovative materials.
