Last week I had the opportunity to visit Hublot's factory with some of my friends The tour guide is a master watchmaker. He has ~40years of experience. He started is career at Rolex, then Vacheron Contantin, Patek Phillipe and finally join Hublot. He work...  

I also get some info about BaselWorld 2016. New materials will be introduce Presentation of a high complex complication with around 12'000 parts, no more details......

I can't imagine a watch with so many parts! I remember the Genta one with 1200! ;) Fx

Some CNC machines will move to the new building. They are too many CNC machines in the old "building". They will have more space. After Sales Service will also be in the new factory. R&D and assembling remain in the actual building. They will then inc... 

Profusion was aquired by Hublot in 2011. They are specialising in carbon fiber. They are a watch case manufacturer.

I have been lucky enough to do it a few times and never fail to learn something new... can't wait for 2016!! Cheers Andrew

Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. I must confess, as the Big Bang is what I refer to as a modular design, I have forever longed to sit in front of a parts bin and create my own version. Alas, I'm sure that is not an opportunity presented on ... 

A friend of mine wears his all black BigBang, during the visit at the hands fitting station, he told to the lady that he could not see the time easily because the hands are black on black dial. She said with a smile "give me your watch I will change them"... 

did he get them changed? I am not surprised at the offer, they really do look after their Hublotistas! Cheers Andrew

Finally hands were not changed. Now he knows that it possible, he is thinking which colors. He wants to keep his BB in an original state (all black) but I told him get your hands changed and you will get an custom BB (furthermore personalized by yourself)...

I've visited Hublot's factory twice. A few weeks ago, I visited Blancpain. There is a thread in the Blancpain Forum. I visit 2-3 factories per year. I'm living in Switzerland and have some contacts/friends. I enjoy each visit

The new building is not far away just accros the railway. There is a nice bridge (Hublot style) joining both building. picture from internet ...  

The bridge looks nice. Although, the screws are missing... ;-)
