Yellow gold vs Rose gold: Revenge time coming?

For the last decade YG was described as old looking, conservative styled, everything but modern, hence, out of fashion.

That is what we read or even think. Most of us, if we were considering buying a RG or a YG watch today would choose the first one (WG or Pt is not what this post is about). We all know that fashion, marketing have an impact on our tastes, more or less.

Nearly everything is a question of cycles: style, economy, colors, music, architecture etc...

Thus, why not a return to YG? It certainly will one day, even if I would not bet on a complete reversal of the interest compared with RG.

The more we see something everywhere the more we have a chance to be tired of it, leading in looking for something else. As years go by, we may be attracted by what most of us never knew, except when reading books or watching movies: style from any far away century, any civilization or, closer to us, from the 20's, 40's, 50's etc...

Each couple of decade may be a source of inspiration of what could satisfy our thirst for beautiful objects and style.

Some brands still propose YG watches, some more than others (Patek for instance) but it's not the main volume sold.

What do you think today of YG? "Never" or "Maybe"?

I was realizing that YG could be back in my tastes when I looked closer to the PP5170 or Horo's beautiful YG Richard Lange. A clearer lighting, warmer, more rare, could be words I could use to describe YG's interest.

If Yellow Gold could speak I'm sure it would say: "I'll be back"
