But it just felt very unusual on my wrist and did not look like I wanted it to. As said, I will have to try out its larger siblings at some point to see if they work better

Do by all means try it first. With its long lugs, small diameter and thick bezel it may not work on all wrists. Still need to try the 38mm variety - maybe that one will fit me better
I am a bit used to this kind of configuration with vintage watches from the 40's and 50's.

I do think you need to get both.
But I am with you that if one is enough the Sinn is particularly appealing, even if the movement isn't from Glashuette. Sinn, to my mind, is kicking some serious butt these days, and this is another example.
