The disassembling of an ETA 6498
Dear Fellows, During this month, every saturday morning, i attend an introductory class to watchmaking. Yeahhhhh Yesterday, i put my hands on an ETA 6498. I disassembled the movement, then reassembled it. Disassembling was not difficult, but reassembling ...
Loads of fun...
And lots of patience and self control. My lack of patience leads to the lost of the spring lever...Hopefully, i found it after 5 minutes. Best regards Fabio
I was exactly in the same case. First to disassemble, last to re assemble.

I've done this with Thomas Prescher (years ago)...
using the same movement - much more challenging than I thought. Great fun, though, and a bit dangerous (if you can't handle the mainspring properly). Cheers, Magnus
Now that i've done it, i have the same impression as yours
It's much more challenging than i thought. And this movement has not so many components. One day, i wish i could do it with an ETA 7750. I think i'll have a really hard time... Best regards Fabio

It always seem that taking things apart is far easier than reassembling. There were times when I'd take apart and reassemble things but often finding a screw or two left over after it's all assembled. Or so I thought. How does that happen? LOL Aloha, Bob
