Never had an Haldimann in my hands but since I know a bit of the VH, I'll bring my inputs.
Working ? Yes, it does, right after couple of turns on the crown. Resonance starts within few seconds and will keep on going until about 100 hours of réserve de marche.
Accuracy is as good as the efforts put its setting. Let's say that resonance is not really bringing an extra accuracy in term of frequency. It makes an average for both resonator but if both are set to +20 and +30, the average will still be +25. If one is set to +10 and the other one to 0, then the result will be a +5 for the watch. It is pretty much the same as the Duality in a way, where the average is made through the differential.
The resonance comes with other interests.
The fact that both resonators lock each other in a common frequency tends to make them behave as a single one. Main interest here is that you will beneficiate of a doubled inertia momentum. This means that the combined resonator will be harder to interfere with. Little bump on the road will affect the frequency but if the resonator is twice "heavier", its course will be harder to mess with.
Another huge advantage is the reserve de marche. With a classical resonator, the energy that is transmitted to the balance wheel is totally dissipated through its friction, hairspring heating... When connecting both hairspring, the energy remaining is transmitted to the second resonator and vice versa. When VH triple axis resonance was prototyped, the base engine was the same as the Deep Space Tourbillon. But the main cage was much more crowded, starting with a second resonator, a differential, and extra mass for bridges, pilars... Resonator math is rather simple at this level and if you power a resonator with P energy, you need Px2 energy for two resonators. Adding the differential with its wheels and pinions just eats more power too. From the first run of the triple axis resonance, the reserve de marche available on the Deep Space motor dropped from 72 to 65 hours. OK, the amplitude was slightly lower, but not by much, keeping a very decent regulating power. Working on the barrels and the mainsprings for the production fixed that and the prototype has been working fine for more than two years on earth as well as in space.
So witnessing this noticeable gain on the reserve de marche while Journe resonance seems to struggle with it makes me perplexed.
