There is a photo that settles it...Blancpain

I have seen Jean-Jacques Fiechter's photo from 1953. Fiechter was Blancpain's CEO at the time. He and the diving instructors were wearing Fifty Fathoms watches. Those watches were already in existence. The Rolex CEO in the photos was not wearing a Rolex diving watch. Since everyone was diving...this was a diving trip and everyone was together in the diving club....if there had been a working Rolex diving watch at the time, it would have been normal for the Rolex CEO to have been wearing it. He wasn't. So, for me, this settles it. And, the Rolex CEO got a really good look at all the features that Fiechter packed into that early set of Fifty Fathoms. Surprise how many of them found their way into the later released Submariner.
